Family Fun Scavenger Hunt set for Aug. 15

Bring a child or grandchild to form a one-adult, one-child team for a new special event being presented in mid-August by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.

This Family Scavenger Hunt will take place on Thursday, Aug. 15, at Overland Park’s Santa Fe Commons Park at 8045 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park. Participants will meet at the park’s gazebo and join in the fun of seeking 10 hidden butterflies or frogs. The team to find all of the hidden items first will win the grand prize. Several designated special items will hold gift certificates, which will go to the team which reaches them first. Following the hunt, cookies and refreshments will be served.

To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under fun for all and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “family fun.”

The scavenger hunt will take place beginning at 1:30 p.m. The cost for one two-hour event is $9 per team member.

The JCPRD’s Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District’s website at www.jcprd.com.
