Johnson County, KS, July 29, 2013: Johnson County Chapter International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) would like to announce they have won the 2013 Avery Great Results Distinctive Chapter Award for those chapters with 40 or more members. At our Administrative Professional Week (APW) event Mr. Ron Schobert, Territory Manager for Avery, announced the news to the chapter and presented a mock check for $1500. The actual check and a trophy will be presented to the chapter president at our Education Forum and Annual Meeting in July at The Marriott in Anaheim, CA.
Each year Avery holds the Avery Great Results Chapter and Division Achievement Awards. Our application was one of 181 submitted for this award. Our chapter had accomplished so much last year and we hoped it would be enough to show the judges our commitment to education, our promotion of professional certification and how we had grown in specific areas of our operations. Some of our accomplishments last year were; membership growth of 23.75% (that percentage reflects the last six (6) months of the year), our fundraising activities in the last six (6) months brought in $4153, at a time we desperately needed to replenish our accounts. These women work tirelessly to keep this chapter going, and do this during their spare time. Most of our events are held in the evenings and on weekends, so we are doing triple duty work, IAAP and then we must somehow find time for family too.
Some history on The Johnson County Chapter; we are one of five (5) chapters in the Kansas Division of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP). We were chartered on April 21, 1975 and our roster currently has 63 members. Our mission is to be the acknowledged professional organization for administrative professionals in Johnson County, Kansas. Our chapter meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at the Meadowbrook County Club, Leawood, KS. If you are interested in joining a professional organization, please think of stopping by, you can find more information about us on our website at http://www.iaap-johnsoncounty.org/JohnsonCounty/Home/?CLK=3a44ab1c-9837-43e1-a510-5efb6955fcbe.
