New Leadership Emerges to Fill Academic Vacancies at KCUMB

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 1, 2013) – As Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences’ former provost and dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine takes the helm as president and chief executive officer on July 1, the University has announced the appointment of individuals to two interim posts and two new senior academic positions.

Marc B. Hahn, D.O., new president and chief executive officer, has named Douglas R. Rushing, Ph.D., as interim provost and G. Michael Johnston, D.O., MACOI, as interim dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine, while the University conducts a national search to fill the vacancy created as Dr. Hahn becomes KCUMB’s 14th president.

John J. Dougherty, D.O., FACOFP, FAOASM, FAODME, has been named senior associate dean for educational programs and medical affairs.

Jeffrey A. Suzewitz, D.O., MPH, FAAFP, FAODME, has been named associate dean for clinical education.
