Desiree' Monize resigns as Executive Director Hope Faith Ministries

Announcement from Board of Directors:

Desiree Monize has resigned her position as Executive Director and has entered into a transition period. Desiree feels called to leave HFM to carry the vision that has guided Hope Faith Ministries and expand it into Kansas City, KS.

In her resignation, Monize stated that she has the highest confidence the community will continue the vision of breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty in kansas City.

Board President Mike Cillessen said "We all want to thank Desiree for her tireless devotion to the mission and for bringing Hope Faith Ministries to the position of prominence that it enjoys in Kansas City today. Her impact to and through Hope Faith Ministries is hard to put into words. We wish her all the best as she follows her heart's calling."

Hope Faith Ministries is an equipping day center for the homeless and poor in the urban core of Kansas City. HFM serves 700-1,000 individuals daily in a dedicated 47,000 square foot facility. Through collaboration with 22 in-house agencies we provide a centralized location for our clients to receive targeted services meeting their emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual needs. A few of the programs offered through HFM include: hot nutritious meals, furniture, clothing, a barbershop, laundromat, hot showers, computer lab, medical, dental and vision lab.

Avenue of Life

Desiree Monize is launching a new non-profit called Avenue of Life!

The mission of Avenue of Life is to mobilize our community to equip and empower low-income individuals and families to be self-sustained and independent. The vision is to be catalysts for transformation in our community by breaking the cycle of poverty through economic development, collaborative partnerships, and wrap-around services provided through a centralized location.
