Independence Film, Art & Music Fest slated in August
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
JUNE 11, 2013
INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI - Independence, MO will be celebrating the arts, with an emphasis on filmmaking and appreciation, with a brand new summer event: The Independence Film, Art & Music Fest. This multi-day, rich experience will occur throughout The Independence Square and the Englewood Arts District from August 8 -11, 2013.
Over 50 feature-length and short independent films will be screened at the Pharaoh Theater on the Independence Square and nearby at Graceland University’s Carmichael Auditorium. Numerous programs will feature area filmmakers and others from around the country, several of which will be in attendance to answer questions and speak to the process of making films. Panel discussions will also be available for emerging and established filmmakers wanting to polish their craft. The program will feature a wide array of subjects and stories, many celebrating the history of the regional luminaries such as Harry Truman and Ginger Rogers. Many never-before-seen shorts and features will be offered for all ages.
In addition, just outside, eclectic musical performances and art displays will also be found at various locations, most of which will be within walking distance. There are also numerous restaurants, retail shops, and historical sites to be found, also mostly within walking distance.
More news will be announced in the coming weeks.
