Local Artist Brad Ultican To Exhibit Fine American Art At The 1855 Harris-Kearney House Museum
Opening on July 3, Brad Ultican’s exhibit ranges from high detail “folk realism” graphite pencil drawings and hand printed etchings, to digital photography of distinct American scenes taken from his various trips throughout the country. He strives to create unique perspectives into the culture, nature, and aesthetics of good ol’ Americana. Recently, his work was featured at the Prairie Village Art Fair and the Omaha Summer Arts Festival.
On Friday, July 12, the museum will host a grand showing from 5-8 pm. The event is free and refreshments will be provided.
The exhibit will be on display from July 3-31, during regular museum hours, Wednesday through Saturday, from 1-5 pm.
About Brad Ultican
Brad first studied the works of great artists such as Rembrandt, Albrecht Durer, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Ansel Adams, and then developed his own unique style. His artwork represents a mechanical approach to American aesthetics. Brad’s interests in engineering and architecture from an early age developed into a fascination of American industrial and mechanical giants. Photography also plays a large part in influencing his works. The compositional possibilities, fine detail, and high contrast available through the use of large format view cameras can be recognized as a direct influence throughout his drawings.
After years of developing his techniques, Brad launched a website and began selling at art fairs throughout the Midwest in 2011. New works are frequently added to his website and art shows, and a list of his upcoming events can be found on his website: http://www.bruprints.com.
