The Kansas League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Installs New leadership
Topeka Ks - 6/15/2013 Annual elections at the 84th Annual LULAC State Conference resulted in the installation of new executive leadership, they include: Michelle Cuevas-Stubblefield from Topeka as the State Director Michelle sits on several Boards, Currently, she serves as a Board of Director for the YWCA of Topeka, a Commissioner on the Topeka Planning Commission. Founder/Past Chapter President and Member of Mana de Topeka, Member of Topeka LULAC #11701, and is currently involved in 2013 Leadership Kansas program. Michelle is Vice President of Business Development and a Partner at jones huyett Partners.
Antonio Hernandez from Garden City as Deputy State Director Antonio was raised in Leoti, Kansas and attended Garden City Community College on a athletic scholarship. He has volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sister, YWCA, and Meals on Wheels. He is a member of the Garden City LULAC Council #11073. Mr. Hernandez is employed by O'reilly Auto Parts as a Store Manager.
Veronica Padilla from Topeka as State Secretary/Treasurer Veronica Padilla is a community volunteer. She sits on several Boards currently Shawnee County Area Council on Aging Secretary, President of Topeka Lulac #11701, current member and past chapter president of Mana De Topeka, Past National Chair of MANA a Latina Organization and current National Board Member, Alternate Board member of HACR National Hispanic Assoc. for Corporate Responsibility, Past National Chaplain Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary. Veronica currently is employed at Ogden Publications as a Customer Care Specialist.
Outgoing State Director Elias Garcia of Topeka, Kansas will serve as Immediate Past Director.
The Kansas LULAC currently has 6 Councils across the State, they include Dodge City President Rebecca Escalante; Garden City President Sylvia Ramirez; Salina President Santos Bonilla; Topeka President Veronica Padilla; Liberal President Arturo Ponce; and a college chapter at K-State University President Jessica Jasso and Advisor Madai Rivera in Manhattan, Ks..
LULAC is the largest and oldest Hispanic Organization in the United States. LULAC advances the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, health and civil rights of Hispanic Americans through community-based programs operating at more than 900 LULAC councils Nationwide.
