Stride for Life event raises $5,700 for local charity

The Wyandotte Nation’s 7th Street Casino, 777 N 7th Street Trafficway in Kansas City, hosted its Stride for Life event May 18 and raised $5,700 for Special Olympics of Kansas City. The casino hosts the event, a 5K run/walk through downtown Kansas City, every year in support of a local charity. The past few years it has raised money for women’s hearth health and KU Oncology. Representatives from the casino, Assistant General Manager Angela Shefveland and General Manager Jean Yuen, along with Wyandotte Nation Chief Billy Friend, presented a check to Deb Larimore, Public Relations Liaison for Special Olympics Kansas Tuesday evening, June 11.
