Felder as Abraham Lincoln Re-enactor at Lafayette County, MO Juneteenth Celebration

Dale Felder, a re-enactor, will be performing during the opening ceremony at the Lafayette County Juneteenth celebration. The performance will be held in Higginsville, MO on Saturday, June 15, 2013, in the Ed Schwitsky 4-H building in Fairground Park after the parade which starts at 10 am.

Over the years,Dale Felder has portrayed Abraham Lincoln in numerous settings. He started re-enacting the part of President Lincoln since he was tall, had a beard, and he possessed a stove-pipe hat. He has always admired President Lincoln and has studied the life of Lincoln.

Dale was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in 1946. Traveled extensively in the first years of life due to his father's position in the U. S. Navy. The family moved up and down the east coast before settling for a time in South Bend, Indiana. The Korean war took the family to the west coast, specifically San Francisco. They returned to Indiana and then decided that the warm climate of California was more appealing. The family moved back to northern California and settled there.

Dale graduated from Livermore High School and Chabot College. He served in the U. S. Army from 1967 to 1973. Dale returned to California and attended San Jose State University. Dale and the Felder family were saved at Piedmont Hills Baptist Church in San Jose, California in 1972. Dale attended and graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Mill Valley, California in 1978.

He and his wife, Chris, have seven children, fifteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Felder is the president of the Higginsville Ministerial Fellowship and is a member of the VFW, American Legion, and Habitat for Humanity
