Seaboard Executive Elected IAOM Treasurer

Overland Park, Kansas – Roy Loepp, Senior Project Engineer with Seaboard Overseas and Trading Group in Merriam, Kansas, was unanimously elected 2013-2014 treasurer of the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) at the Association’s 117th annual conference and expo on May 2, in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. As treasurer, Loepp will be responsible for overseeing preparations for the Association’s 2014 and 2015 conferences in Omaha, Nebraska, and Palm Springs, California, respectively. He is also in line to serve as the Association’s president from 2015-2016. Loepp has been an active member of IAOM since 1990. Loepp has served as a member of the IAOM Education Committee since 2000. While serving as IAOM treasurer, Loepp will also be vice president of the International Milling Education Foundation (IMEF), a philanthropic partner of IAOM that funds a variety of educational programs related to the grain milling industry. Loepp is a native of Inman, Kansas. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1989, with a degree in milling science and management. Upon graduation, he joined Cargill, Inc., as a production manager, and worked with the company in plants in Topeka, Kansas, and Springfield, Illinois. In 1995, he took a milling technologist position at Seaboard Corporation in Merriam, Kansas. In 2001, he was promoted to his current position. Loepp holds an MBA from the University of Kansas. IAOM has been the leading provider of educational resources and training for the grain milling industry since its foundation in 1896. Through conferences, workshops, correspondence courses, short courses and publications, IAOM has played an integral role in the continued education and training of the professionals in this industry for 117 years. IAOM is an individual-based member organization with a 2,100-strong membership representing over 90 countries worldwide. With 16 districts around the world, IAOM provides an international forum for networking; the exchange of ideas, technical and educational opportunities; and the discovery of new products and services.
