Kansas City hip hop artist Nico Yuch in bank robbery video

LOCAL HIP HOP ARTIST ROBS KANSAS CITY BANK TO SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT HIS MUSIC Dedication or just pure insanity? Nico Yoch does it what it takes to get his music heard, even if it involves robbing a bank. With the help of Rockhaven Films, Yoch took his music to the next level by filming a music video to his single, "Ain't Stoppin'" from the soon to be released third album. The video was shot in historic downtown Kansas City, Mo. in an old bank inside of the Livestock Exchange Building. To create hype around the video, mock "actual" cell phone footage taken by a "hostage" was released on YouTube. The video itself made its debut on Jan. 9, 2013. Yoch has been in the hip hop music scene since 2010. He built a recording studio inside of his dorm room while attending the University of Kansas for pole vaulting in track and field. His passion for music gave him the push he needed to release his first self-created album on Feb. 1, 2011 called the "Peter Parker Mixtape." With its success in the local Lawrence, Kan. music scene, Yoch began performing. Noteworthy performances at local venues like the Jackpot and opening for artist Chris Webby at the Granada paved the way for a sold out performance at the Nowhere Bar in the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, Mo. Yoch proceeded to heat things up when he came in second place at a battle to open for Eminem at the summer concert event KanRockSas. His breakout performance came when he opened for college crowd favorite, Asher Roth, whose popular song "I Love College" has been heard on the radiowaves nationwide. Yoch brings a full band to every show that gives him the extra edge to hip hop music. To keep his dream alive, Yoch started a kickstarter page to fund the professional edge he knew he could give, and what his fans desired, for his follow up album, "No Days Off". After reaching his goal, the album was released on March 6, 2012. The first single, "Tell the World," proclaims that Yoch is ready to meet the greats, focus on his dream by getting his name out there and tell the world that a rapper from Kansas will take you by surprise and prove to the disbelievers, "if you stop before the top how will you know if you're the King?" Yoch is now currently working on his third album titled, "Genesis" in which "Ain't Stoppin'" will be released. Between writing and recording, Yoch has kept busy by interviewing for radio stations such as KJHK 90.7fm, which is the student-run radio station for the University of Kansas. His website has also been featured on Bandzoogle, which highlights one artist on a weekly basis. For more information, please visit www.nicoyoch.com.
