April 17 Junior-Senior Prom to Bring Students and Retirees Together on Tallgrass Creek's Dance Floor

OVERLAND PARK, KS (April 9, 2013) – A Wednesday, April 17, Junior-Senior Prom at Tallgrass Creek retirement community will bring 30 students from Blue Valley North High School and nearly 100 retirees together on the dance floor. They will do the Electric Slide, Macarena and Booty Call, among other dances. There might even be an impromptu Harlem Shake.

The Prom will be a night of dancing and the sharing of life stories. A Dee Jay provided by the students will play an assortment of music genres – everything from Big Band to Rock, from Country to Hip-Hop – as intergenerational age barriers are dismantled.

The students, who will be chaperoned, will bring flowers to the residents for the Prom. They will share soft drinks with the residents and talk about their plans for college. Perhaps most important, they will dance the night away together until the proverbial cows come home.

WHEN: Wednesday, April 17 (7-8:30 p.m.) WHERE: Tallgrass Creek, 13800 Metcalfe Avenue, Overland Park, KS
