32nd Annual Golf Classic Playing a Round to Take Resources on the Road
Catholic Charities Foundation of Northeast Kansas will host the 32nd Annual Golf Classic founded by the Ben and Betty Zarda Family on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Lake Quivira Country Club. Each year more than 150 golfers and volunteers participate in this day of fellowship and golf that raises funds for Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas. A portion of the proceeds from this tournament will go to securing an additional Emergency Assistance Resource Bus to deliver food, clothing and direct financial assistance to families that experience transportation barriers.
Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas’ first Resource Bus, donated by Atmos Energy, has been on the road since it arrived last June. Equipped with computer work stations, food, utility and other assistance resources, as well as passionate case managers, the bus has already reached all 21 counties in northeast Kansas served by Catholic Charities. “We are very grateful to the Ben and Betty Zarda family for their continued dedication to the Golf Classic. With their support, we will be able to provide more help and hope to clients in the geographic area that we serve” said Jan Lewis, Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas President and CEO.
Golfers will enjoy lunch, round of golf, dinner reception and awards ceremony. For more information about participating, sponsoring or helping us reach our fund-a-need goal for the Golf Classic, please visit www.catholiccharitiesgolfclassic.org.
