Blue Valley Rec to hold public forums on proposed indoor multipurpose facility

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (3/29/2013) – The Blue Valley Recreation Commission invites the community to attend one of two public forums to discuss a proposed indoor multipurpose recreation facility. The forums are set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 and Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Blue Valley School District CAPS building (7501 W. 149th Terrace) in Overland Park.

The forums will focus on plans for a new indoor recreation facility originally identified as a need as far back as 1999 and reinforced in 2008 through a strategic plan process. The proposed multipurpose facility is to be located at 7700 W. 143rd Street in Overland Park in partnership with the Blue Valley School District on its Hilltop campus.

The public forums are free and community input is welcome. Persons seeking to participate in the forums who request that a sign language interpreter or other form of reasonable accommodation for a disability be provided are asked to notify Jim Chladek, administration manager (
