Kansas City Art Venue, an art consignment store operating on the third floor of the Crown Center, owned and managed by Vickie Ellison, is happy to announce new works on display, by Susan Turner, a local digital photo artist.
When Susan approached Vickie to place some items in the Venue, Vickie asked her to e-mail her some images to determine if they would be suitable for being placed among the hand-painted pieces and drawings. When she received the images, she immediately agreed to put Susan's pieces on display, telling her, "Photos don't typically sell well, but when I saw THIS (refering to a large rendition of "Birds on a Line"), I loved it!"
Susan commented that this was her first real public display although she does have a website to refer potential customers to: www.digitalphotoartbysusan.blogspot.com. "Photography really is my first love, but I didn't have the time to explore marketing it until recently," she commented. I can't manage a paint brush real well, so I use effects and my imagination to create displays worthy of hanging up in your home. I enjoy creating the larger pieces so they make a real impact."
Both women are thrilled with the set-up and anxious to get the word out. If you haven't been to the gallery store, this is a great time to stop in and see the variety of art.
