Prairie Village Resident Receives Award

At the George Washington Birthday luncheon, held by the National Society Sons of the American Revolution on 23 February 2013 at the Ritz Charles facility in Overland Park, Mrs. Mary Bannister Frisch was escorted to the podium by the Color Guard Commander, Robert Capps. A stirring recognition of Mrs. Frisch's outstanding service to the S.A.R. began: "Today, the George Washington Birthday Celebration Planning Committee, on behalf of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution, presents the S.A.R. Martha Washington Medal to Mary Bannister Frisch, Regent, Kansas Society Daughters of the American Revolution." Mary promotes the preservation of history of the American Revolution, thereby promoting patriotism and education of future citizens. She has been a strong promoter of the George Washington Birthday Celebration and the Sons of the American Revolution in general, by assisting others toward completing their membership applications, including that of her brother. Since becoming a member of Mission Hills Chapter, Overland Park, KS, Mary has been active leader at every level of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, representing them at local, state and national events. She has been a tireless supporter of the Kansas Society of the Children of the American Revolution working at the Santa Fe Trail Society, Kansas Society and National Society levels and has strongly supported the active participation of her grandchildren. The Martha Washington medal and framed certificate were presented to Mrs. Frisch by H. Dewey Fry, General Chairman, George Washington Birthday Celebration Planning Committee.
