Gladstone School to Host Cirque Event Fundraiser

GLADSTONE, MO— Oakhill Day School will host its largest fundraiser of the year this Saturday, March 2, 2013. The festivities take place on the school campus at 7019 N Cherry, Gladstone, MO 64118 and begins at 5:30 p.m. for its VIP guests.

In mid summer of 2012, the dedicated group of parent volunteers who make up the Oakhill Day School Auction Committee met to plan what is to be the largest event of the year for the school. “I’ve been to Cirque shows, they are fun and magical,” says Suzanne McCanles, Head of School, of Cirque du Oakhill. “The learning that happens the school at every day, it’s like a Cirque show, fresh and new.”

Last year’s auction event raised over $140,000 for the students of Oakhill and the committee is eager to top that total this year. All proceeds from the event goes towards programming at Oakhill Day School.

Oakhill faculty, staff, and guests will be joined by Auctioneer Tanna Guthrie and Emcee Joel Nichols for the night's main event. Over 300 items are up for bid in the silent auction, while over 30 items, including VIP tickets to Dancing with the Stars and behind the scene passes to Good Morning America, are up for grabs in the live event. Guests will dine on food from Trezo Mare, Oakhill Day School Community Partner. Rebecca DiGerlamo, Director of Development says of the 350 guest event, “As much fun as Auction night is, it’s not just a social gathering for Oakhill parents, but rather it is a time where the community comes together for a common goal… to raise funds for Oakhill that will used to ensure that each student gets the very best education!”
