Local Zeta Chapter Chosen As Face For International Anti-Hazing Campaign

Kansas City, MO –Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.’s Omega Iota Zeta chapter was chosen by its International Headquarters to be the new face for a t-shirt campaign that promotes anti-hazing.

According to the sorority’s National First Vice President, Scarlet H. Black, “Finer Women Don’t Haze is a national coalition has been formed by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and the National Action Network calling on all fraternities, sororities, civic organizations, academic institutions, politicians, celebrities and concerned citizens to support a full-scale effort to eliminate hazing culture from society. The national coalition will also conduct a major media campaign to bring awareness to the problem of hazing and develop anti-hazing curriculum training programs and support materials.”

With over 800 chapters currently in the organization, the accomplishments of the Omega Iota Zeta chapter caught the attention of officers on the National level which led to the decision. When the chapter members were asked how it felt to be the new face of anti-hazing, the overall feeling was that it was such an honor to be put into this position seeing as how they are a new formed chapter of ten months and it is a blessing to be recognized at such a high level.
