Recycling glass at your curb to help fight hunger in Kansas City

Kansas City, MO – February 18, 2013 – KC Curbside Glass announced today that it will be donating its glass recycling services to Harvesters-The Community Food Network, for the 17th annual Forks & Corks, their major fund raiser. The food and wine-tasting event will be held on Thursday, April 25 in the Grand Ballroom at the Kansas City Convention Center.

The proceeds from Forks & Corks 2012 enabled Harvesters to provide over one million meals to the hungry throughout our community. This year they hope to have even more local restaurants and beverage purveyors offering a varied selection of fine food, wine, specialty beers and coffee.

Last year’s event produced over 1,200 pounds of recyclable glass. In addition to supporting Harvesters at Forks & Corks by recycling all of this, KC Curbside Glass will also be joining the fight against hunger by donating 10% of its gross annual revenue, for 2013, to Harvesters.

“I know how hard it is to be productive when I miss lunch. Imagine if you are a child who hasn’t eaten in a day or two. We want to help Harvesters provide food for those who need it,” stated Hunt Magee, KC Curbside Glass Owner. “When you sign up for our curbside glass recycling service you are helping Harvesters feed those who are hungry in our community.”
