One Year Later…Mother Continues to Honor Son’s Life with Scholarship

Kansas City, Mo. – On April 23, 2012, Ashton O’Guinn became Kansas City 32nd homicide. One year later, his mother, Dewanna O’Guinn is still mourning the loss of her son, “He was a great kid, my oldest of three children, a college student, a loving kid with a big heart and smile. We all still miss him.”

To honor his life, Dewanna, the Owner of Concierge, a Kansas City family-owned catering, wedding planning and event décor company, is hosting AO’s Exclusive Red & White Affair. This annual event is designed to celebrate the precious gift of life; as well as, inspire peace and unity to a community plagued with violence, “Last year’s event was incredible; great food, awesome entertainment, plus we presented three outstanding students with scholarship awards.”
