Myasthenia Gravis Association appoints new executive director

February 8, 2014 – The Myasthenia Gravis Association (MGA) is pleased to announce that they have appointed Danielle Walk as their new Executive Director.

Prior to joining the MGA, Ms. Walk was the Program Director of the Epilepsy Foundation of MO & KS where she oversaw all aspects of ongoing programing and implementation of education and social service activities in the community, providing clients with community resources and referrals and guiding families through the special education process. Ms. Walk holds an MS in Human Services and Social Work from Capella University and a BS in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Central Missouri. She also serves as an MPACT Mentor where she assists parents in their effort to effectively advocate for their children’s educational rights and services.

“I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to give back to my community as MGA’s new executive director,” said Ms. Walk. “I believe in collaboration and partnership, and I am eager to hear directly from our members about what is needed to create even better programs and services that will help improve the quality of life for those living with MG.”

The Myasthenia Gravis Association (MGA) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those who are affected by this autoimmune, neuromuscular disease through awareness, education and member services. The MGA serves those living with MG along with their family and friends in Missouri and Kansas. For over 50 years, the MGA has been devoted to our mission, to increase public awareness and provide MG-specific educational opportunities.
