Wright Career College recognized by Overland Park Economic Development Council

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- Students are enjoying the beautiful new campus and now Wright Career College’s new regional campus and corporate headquarters is recognized by the City of Overland Park. The school was awarded the Commercial Development Award from the Overland Park Economic Development Council during its annual honors luncheon on February 7, 2013.

The award recognizes a business that’s made a significant investment and major impact into Overland Park’s economy. In 2012, Wright Career College opened its regional campus and corporate headquarters at Interstate 435 and Metcalf Ave.

“Our goal is to serve our students and to serve the community, by helping those students better their lives and their futures,” John Mucci, Wright Career College President said.

The 55,000 square foot facility opened in July 2012 and is the outcome of a shared commitment by the City of Overland Park and the college to advance the concept of the “Vision Metcalf” redevelopment plan. It provides a beautiful entryway to the Metcalf corridor to the north.

The campus includes an administration building and a classroom building with a state-of-the-art virtual training hospital. It features a plaza-style gathering area, fountains and a clock tower, and has green space and landscaping to give a welcoming feel.

Wright’s Overland Park regional campus employs more than 100 people. In addition to the Overland Park regional campus, Wright Career College has locations in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Wichita and Omaha.
