Nueterra acquires majority ownership in Texas facility

LEAWOOD, Kan. (February 7, 2013)—Nueterra, a global healthcare management company, acquired majority ownership of Basin Healthcare Center in Odessa, Texas, effective February 1, 2013.

In partnership with the local physician group, Nueterra assumes management function at the facility which opened in February 2010. By reducing costs through leveraging its corporate purchasing power and increasing operational efficiencies, Nueterra hopes to pass savings along to the residents of Odessa.

“We are excited to have Nueterra as a managing partner of Basin Healthcare Center,” shared Ravikumar P. Vemuru, MD. “As a full-service company, Nueterra can implement operating protocols and procedures that will help us operate more efficiently.”

“Basin Healthcare Center’s forty-two physicians provide remarkable healthcare to the residents in and around Odessa,” shared Scott Martin, group vice president for Nueterra. Nueterra will evaluate the service lines of Basin Healthcare Center to ensure the business and healthcare offerings align with community needs. “We want Basin Healthcare to remain an outstanding place to receive quality healthcare in West Texas,” said Dan Tasset, chairman of Nueterra.

“At Basin Healthcare Center, as in all of our facilities, we partner with quality physicians to better healthcare and provide cost-effective, patient focused healthcare,” shared Tasset. Nueterra defines bettering healthcare as higher-quality care, better patient outcomes, lower costs and more access for patients.
