Celebrate Chinese New Year and discover new business opportunities
Perhaps the “Year of the Snake” is the year your company starts doing business with China, the world’s #2 economy. World Trade Center – Kansas City (WTC-KC), working with Kansas City, Missouri City Councilman Scott Wagner, can help.
In 2013, Chinese New Year is February 10 and begins the “Year of the Snake.” On February 11, WTC-KC will host “China: New Year, New Opportunities…” a chance to learn more about doing business in China. The event will be held from 8:00 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. in the Board Room at Union Station.
Who should attend? Entrepreneurs looking for foreign investment, service providers needing to keep up with current trends, or business owners interested in expanding to the Chinese market. Participants will get an overview of the Chinese economy, what Chinese trade means to the KC region, and information on EB-5 visas, Chinese investment, intellectual property issues, and will hear from a panel of experts already doing business in China.
WTC-KC, along with other organizations, is assisting KCMO City Councilman Scott Wagner in his effort to restart the city’s relations with China, an effort that began with a visit to Beijing in October 2012. “Kansas City is reasserting itself as an international city. Programs like this provide valuable resources to the business community and raise awareness of the importance of international trade, which has tremendous benefit for our city.”
In addition to Councilman Wagner, featured speakers include: • Teng-Kee Tan, Dean of the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City; •Dr. Chris Kuehl, Managing Director, Armada Corporate Intelligence; •Mira Mdivani, Mdivani Law Firm, a leading expert in U.S. corporate immigration law; and •David Pankros, Attorney-at-Law, expert on patent, trademark, and copyright applications. Incidentally, according to one Chinese astrologer, the “Year of the Snake” is supposed to be especially good for banking, machinery, engineering, computer, high tech, property, mining, and insurance.
Cost for “China: New Year, New Opportunities” is $35 per person, breakfast included. To register, visit www.wtc-kc.com
