Once Upon a Time event supports The Children's SPOT at Saint Luke's Hospital

The Children’s SPOT at Saint Luke’s Hospital announces its 16th annual fundraiser, Once A Upon a Time. This enchanting evening will take place on Sunday, Feb. 24 from 3 to 6 p.m. in The Muehlebach Tower at the Downtown Marriott, 200 West 12th Street in Kansas City, Mo.

Guests will enjoy child-inspired entertainment, dancing, dinner, and unique table masterpieces. Their hosts for the evening will be Honorary Co-Chairs Connie and Anthony Mendolia and Co-Chairs Amie and Kevin Bybee, M.D., and Elizabeth and Michael LeBlanc, D.D.S.

The Children’s SPOT is an outpatient therapy program for children from birth to school age with disabilities or developmental delays. This year’s Once Upon a Time event includes a fund-a-need opportunity to support the Family Assistance Fund. Attendees will be able to donate designated amounts to purchase therapy sessions for children lacking insurance coverage for treatment.

The Children’s SPOT believes that all children deserve the best possible start in life. Because research shows that early intervention provides the best outcomes for children with developmental disabilities, The SPOT is committed to providing intensive intervention at the earliest possible age. A team of 10 highly experienced therapists ensures that each child reaches his or her highest level of functional ability. Inside a state-of-the-art facility, Children’s SPOT therapists use individualized treatment plans to promote growth and development. Services include individual speech, physical, and occupational therapy, neonatal intensive care follow-up, and a developmental preschool.

“For so many families, The Children’s SPOT is a blessing,” said event co-chair Amie Bybee. “Unfortunately, insurance often does not cover the kind of early intensive therapy these children need to thrive. We’re grateful to supporters of Once Upon a Time for helping them get the best start in life.”

A Patron Party will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19 at the home of Amy and Paul Holewinski. ‘Ever after Friend’ sponsorships are $1,000 and include two patron party tickets.

Make plans to attend this unique and inspiring event! Individual tickets are $75 before Feb. 14. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more information and tickets, contact Jeanette Worthington at 816-932-7948 or jworthington@saint-lukes.org or visit www.onceuponatimeSPOT.org.
