Sam’s Club ® and local Rotary Club partner to help wounded warriors in need—check presentation to take place Thursday, January 24 at 1:00 P.M. at the new Sam’s Club in Kansas City, Kansas.

Kansas City, KS, Jan. 22, 2013—Sam’s Club and the Village West Rotary Club will host a check presentation on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at 1:00 P.M. at the new Kansas City, Kan. Sam’s Club at 10510 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kan., near The Legends shopping area.

The check presentation is a result of Sam’s Club and the Village West Rotary Club joining forces for the 6th Annual Parade of Heroes event held in October of 2012. The Parade of Heroes is an annual event hosted by the Village West Rotary Club to honor all men and women in uniform—veterans, first responders and active military.

Proceeds from the 6th Annual Parade of Heroes will benefit a local Leavenworth organization—HOOAH—Helping Our Own at Home. HOOAH provides help and support for wounded warriors and their families residing in the Kansas City area and surrounding communities.

With a long history of giving back to the community and supporting local causes, Sam’s Club will present the Village West Club with a generous $5,000 check as the largest sponsor of the Parade of Heroes. In addition, Sam’s Club will also present an additional $10,000 donation to HOOAH.

These funds will be combined with other community support and proceeds from the Parade of Heroes will be donated to HOOAH to help local wounded warriors.

“The Village West Rotary Club was proud to have Sam’s Club as the presenting sponsor for our 6th Annual Parade of Heroes,” said Glenn Harte, local business owner and President of the Village West Rotary Club. “As a volunteer organization, we are thrilled that Sam’s Club recognizes and supports our club’s efforts to do good work in the community.”

Sam’s Club and the Village West Rotary Club invite the press and the public to join them for the check presentation to take place on Thursday, January 24, at 1:00 P.M. at the new Kansas City, Kan. Sam’s Club at 10510 Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kan. Representatives from the beneficiary, HOOAH, will also be in attendance.
