Twelve artists and designers from the Kansas City area are bringing a new art market to Kansas City. Fresh Squeezed Art will take place on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dead Leaf Designs, 1739 Walnut, Kansas City, Missouri. The market will feature locally made and original gift items including apparel, bags, cards, art prints, toys, and baby items. In addition, Normal Human print shop of Mission will offer on-site custom screen printing. There will also be a free children's art activity. The artists participating in the event include Grace D. Chin, Matthew Cook, Leah Hoelscher, Crystal Hammerschmidt, Thayer Bray, Ashley Warner, Havana Mahoney, Pat Egger and Dan Mahaney of Normal Human print shop, Scott Burr Tyler Snell and Jason Bays.
"It's going to be a fun event that brings unique handmade items to the Kansas City area, just in time for Valentine's day," said illustrator and textile designer Leah Hoelscher. Hoelscher will be releasing a new line of apparel, home and kitchen accessories inspired by her recent travels in South America. "It's a chance for artists to make new products for Kansas City's art lovers," said artist Scott Burr. Burr is developing a new line of child and baby items for the market. Normal Human print shop will be adding some special local flavor with their Kansas City centric apparel and accessories. Fresh Squeezed Art Market is on the web at www.squeezedart.tumblr.com, on Twitter as @squeezedart, and on Facebook as Fresh Squeezed Art Market.
