Park University Theatre Hosting Auditions For "Hot'l Baltimore"

Auditions for the Park University theatre production of Lanford Wilson's "Hot'l Baltimore" will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, and Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the David Theater, located within Alumni Hall on the University's Parkville Campus.

The auditions are open to the public. Readings for the auditions will come from selected scenes in the play. No prior experience, nor memorized auditions, is necessary. Those auditioning only need to attend one of the two audition evenings. There are seven roles for women and eight for men.

The play, set in the lobby of the Hot'l Baltimore, focuses on the residents of the property who face eviction after the building is condemned. The play won the 1973 Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best American Play and the Obie Award for Best American Play.

Performances will be held Friday through Sunday, March 22-24, and Wednesday-Thursday, March 27-28. The curtain rises at 7 p.m. for all dates except for March 24, which begins at 2 p.m.

For more information about the auditions, contact Andrea Southard, Ph.D., instructor of theatre, at or (816) 584-6450.
