New Facility Provides Increased Opportunities for Adults with Developmental Disabilities Triality, Inc. relocates within Kansas City metro area
Kansas City, Mo. (January 7, 2013) — Triality, Inc., located in Kansas City in the southwest corner of Clay County, will celebrate its new facility with a ribbon cutting and open house on Thursday, Jan. 31. The Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce will be present to help inaugurate the new facility. The event is free and open to the public.
Ribbon Cutting and Open House 1508 Vivion Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64118 Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
The interior of the existing building on Vivion Road was redesigned to accommodate programs for adults with developmental disabilities participating in Triality’s Community and Employment Services programs. The space provides a variety of amenities--most notably open areas for activities that allow adults to move easily from room to room, choose from various activities and experience increased independence. Easy highway access to the facility allows Triality’s adult clients to engage in the community by traveling places to volunteer and work.
Triality’s Community Living program staff and administrative staff are located in the new facility as well. Triality Tots, a preschool program for children from birth to age five (including those with developmental or health care needs) remains at its location in Pleasant Valley, Missouri.
Triality’s adult programs previously were located in Liberty and shared offices with the Developmental Disabilities Resource Board of Clay Country (DDRB). The DDRB’s decision to provide case management services at the county level required more space for its growing staff, providing the impetus for Triality to find space of its own.
“The design and features of our new facility better fit the needs of our adult clients, allowing them more flexibility to make decisions about how they spend their day, better access to the larger community as well as separate space for our employment program. It ultimately furthers our mission of empowering those with development disabilities,” says Wendy Witcig, executive director of Triality. "We’re excited by the opportunities we can now offer our clients, enriching their lives and making a difference in our community.”
Triality, Inc., a 501(c)3, designs personalized programs for people with developmental disabilities throughout their life. Programs for children and families include Triality Tots, Home Visitation and Therapy Services. Community Services, Employment Services and Community Living initiatives are programs designed to support and empower adults. Founded in 1975, Triality programs are available to Kansas City area residents living in Clay, Cass, Jackson, Lafayette, and Platte Counties. For more information, visit TrialityInc.com.
