Barstow's Robotics Kick-off event brings out enthusiastic, high-minded high-schoolers.

The Barstow School’s robotics team, the “Kuh-nig-its” held its annual kick-off event on January 5 to celebrate the announcement of the newest robotic challenge from FIRST™. FIRST™ is an organization that, since its founding in 1989, has challenged high school students with new robotics challenges each year. They promote STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education, a key component to a rounded education. The Kuh-nig-its also organized a Harvesters food drive and brought in nearly 500 food items for those in need. Four high-school robotics teams were in attendance along with their professional mentors the event amassed a huge crowd, totaling more 148 people in total, with 130 being students.
