Missouri Farmers Market Association annual conference slated in January

The 2013 Missouri Farmers Market Association Annual Conference & Trade Show will be held in Springfield, Missouri at the Howard Johnson’s Conference Center at 3333 S. Glenstone Ave. The official conference is January 25th & 26th, however this year we will offer a pre-conference bonus day for a free course, “Food Safety – From Field to Market”, complete with certification, on January 24th. This year’s conference is hosted by the Greater Springfield Farmers’ Market located at Battlefield Mall in Springfield.

The annual conference will provide a great variety of farming and farmers market related workshops and discussion groups. We’ll offer inviting off site tours, meals from foods produced by our local growers, gift bags, prizes, education, fellowship, legendary entertainer Bob Mabe, the original Branson Baldknobber, will bring his group for our entertainment, and we’ll have a whole lot of fun!

The Trade Show will have something for everyone. There will be companies representing horticulture, agriculture, seeds, plants, machinery, tools, hardware, tractors, meat production, finances, research, development, health, fertilizers, methodology, etc. This years theme is ‘Growing Missouri’s Farmers Markets Into the Future’.

Every farmers market is full of pick-up trucks! Our Official 2013 “Truck of the Conference” is also Motor Trend’s 2013 “Truck of the Year” and will be featured inside the Exhibition Hall, courtesy of Corwin Dodge Ram of Springfield.
