KC Pet Project’s “A Home for the Holidays” Campaign Goal to Find Adopters and Foster Homes for 200 Shelter Pets

Kansas City, MO – At the top of every homeless pet’s wish list is a warm, safe home with a loving family to care for them. For thousands of animals in Kansas City each year, the Kansas City, Missouri Animal Shelter IS their temporary home. Whether they are lost, abandoned, or no longer able to stay in their current homes, these homeless animals are cared for by the dedicated staff and volunteers at the Kansas City Pet Project until their wish is granted. That’s why the KC Pet Project will launch an aggressive “A Home for the Holidays” campaign this Friday, December 14th in an effort to find permanent or temporary homes for 200 dogs and cats this holiday season.

From December 14th-23rd you pick any adult dog or cat in the Kansas City, Missouri Animal Shelter - or at our new Pet Adoption Center in Zona Rosa - and YOU get to choose the adoption fee. This special excludes puppies, kittens, and specialty breeds. Your adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, microchip, de-worming, age-appropriate vaccinations and 30 days of Shelter Care insurance – a $400 value. The shelter is full of great dogs and cats, including purebred and small breeds, and they are all ready to go home with you! To view all of the available pets at the Kansas City, Missouri Animal Shelter, please go to the website at www.kcpetproject.org.

Not looking to adopt? Fostering a dog or cat for the holidays is a very rewarding experience – both for you and the animal you foster, and it saves the life of that pet and the next one that comes to the shelter. Many of the animals in the shelter would benefit from time away from the shelter – a warm fireplace, some quiet time, and a soft bed to call their own. Signing up to become a foster parent for KC Pet Project is easy! The application is available online on the KC Pet Project website.

The KC Pet Project: Pet Adoption Center in Zona Rosa is located at 7351 NW 87th Terrace across from Dillard’s. Hours of operation vary and may be viewed at www.kcpetproject.org/zonarosa.
