KANSAS ASSOCIATION FOR JUSTICE HONORS LARRY W. WALL WITH THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD
Topeka, Kan.—The Kansas Association for Justice (KsAJ) honors Larry W. Wall, Wichita, Kan., with its Distinguished Service Award in 2012. Nominated by his colleagues, Wall was selected by leadership for this honor as part of the organization’s annual recognition of those who have made significant contributions to justice. Wall is being recognized for his persistence in pursuing justice in litigation against a former Haysville, Kan., physician and his “pill mill” medical clinic, which led to over 176 patient drug overdoses, numerous physical injuries and 68 deaths. Prosecution of the wrongful death cases proved to be a herculean task. Wall successfully settled eight wrongful death suits and one medical malpractice suit. Over 700 pleadings were filed in just two of the nine cases. Wall personally handled 140 of the over 160 depositions in the litigation. Throughout the search for justice, Wall proved to be a consummate trial lawyer as he championed his clients’ cases. One said “He listened to my story and was genuinely concerned for my cause.” Another commented that he “learned rather quickly that Larry…could not be intimidated. He reassured me that there would be justice and that he would be there standing by my side when it was all said and done.” Wall is with Wall Huntington Trial Law in Wichita. He has practiced law in Kansas for 40 years, and has been a member of KsAJ since 1982. He completed a BBA at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, and then completed his juris doctor at Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas. Following graduation, Wall moved to Wichita to begin his legal career as the Assistant District Attorney. In his over 30 years of legal practice, Wall has been involved in a number of case areas, but focuses most extensively on medical malpractice and pharmaceutical litigation.
The Kansas Association for Justice is a statewide, not-for-profit professional association which champions individual and corporate responsibility and accountability, the right to trial by jury, independence of the judiciary and high standards of ethics.
