Winter Break Basketball Camp offered Dec. 26-28 for grades K-8

A three-day Winter Break Basketball Camp for boys and girls in grades kindergarten through eight being offered by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.

Winter Basketball camp is being offered at two locations: Okun Fieldhouse, located within the Mid-America West Sports Complex, 20200 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, and at the New Century Fieldhouse, 551 New Century Parkway, near Gardner. Through coaching and physical activity, JCPRD strives to encourage athletic development, sportsmanship, and personal growth through basketball. This program will stress fundamentals, offence, and defense, and will allow players to practice shooting, passing and ball handling. Each camper should bring a basketball with their name on it.

To find this program in the Johnson County Park & Recreation District’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under youth and then under sports. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “basketball.”

At Okun Fieldhouse, this program is offered at 1:30 p.m. and again at 3:30 p.m. At New Century Fieldhouse, this program is offered at 9 a.m. and again at 10:30 a.m. Camp sessions will take place Wednesday Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 28. The cost for three 90-minute sessions is $40 for Johnson County residents or $45 for nonresidents.

The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District's website at www.jcprd.com.
