The Kansas City Star launches STAR + as a total-access subscription
Kansas City, MO - December 5, 2012
Beginning today, Kansas City Star print subscribers will have STAR+, a total-access digital subscription package, added to their current subscription. Star+ includes unlimited access to all of The Star's digital content through our KansasCity.com website, mobile site, iPhone and iPad apps, Android, E-Star editions and archives for a minimal additional cost.
Readers have been consuming news differently over the last few years, and that has necessitated this change in our business model. We are asking our readers to help share in this support because we can no longer expect advertising to support all these platforms and options.
Also beginning today, non-subscribers will be limited to 15 page views per 30 days on The Star's website, KansasCity.com and most companion digital websites.
Both subscribers and non-subscribers can activate their STAR+ subscription at KansasCity.com/plus. There, you can find a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) that will help you learn more about STAR+. Alternatively, readers can call 1-877-962-7827 and press 8 for Operator Assistance.
During December, everyone that activates a STAR+ subscription will be entered in the "Tech the Halls" holiday technology package giveaway. One lucky winner will get to pick a laptop, tablet device and smart phone (up to $2,500 in value) at Nebraska Furniture Mart in order to take full advantage of the new STAR+ subscription.
