Benchmark Healthcare of Lee’s Summit host Annual Holiday Dinner and Food Drive benefiting Harvester Food Pantry
Lee Summit, MO – (November 28, 2012) Saturday, December 1st Benchmark Healthcare of Lee’s Summit will be hosting their annual Holiday Dinner and Food Drive from 11:00am – 1:00pm. This family owned skilled nursing facility is conveniently located at 1501 Southwest Third Street in Lee’s Summit, MO. This festive dinner is not only a wonderful celebration to reign in the holiday season but more importantly friends, families and residents of Benchmark Healthcare will help raise food for those in need. Over the last three years Benchmark Healthcare including their three Kansas City area locations: Lee’s Summit, Harrisonville and Raytown, have raised over 500 pounds of food to donate to Harvester Food Pantry. Harvester is the only food bank in the Kansas City area and has been helping people in need since 1979. Harvester collects food and household products from community and industry sources to distribute those products and provides nutrition services through a network of nonprofit agencies. Their network includes more than 620 nonprofit agencies throughout our 26-county direct service area, including emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, children’s homes, homes for the mentally disabled and shelters for battered persons. Their network provides food assistance to as many as 66,000 different people each week. This year, the three Kansas City area Benchmark Healthcare locations are participating in a friendly collection contest to decide which location can collect the most food donations for Harvester Food Pantry. “Benchmark Healthcare is delighted to host our Annual Holiday Dinner to help raise food donations for Harvester Food Pantry and for those in need in our community,” says John Sells, president and CEO of Benchmark Healthcare. Benchmark Healthcare’s longstanding mission is to ensure that residents feel at home and a member of the Benchmark family. For nearly 75 years, Benchmark Healthcare has provided top-quality passionate care for its residents and their loved ones. The company currently owns and manages twenty residential care facilities located in Missouri and Tennessee. John Sells is the third generation of his family to oversee the business.
About Benchmark Healthcare Family owned and operated, Benchmark Healthcare’s dedication to service began in 1938 when matriarch and founder, Clara Sells began helping seniors in their golden years, caring for people who were either alone or forgotten or needed special care.
