New Mini Morning Masterpieces art workshops offered for ages 3-5 with a parent

Children can make holiday decorations during the last in a series of art workshops being offered this fall by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.

The program is called Mini Morning Masterpieces and is for ages three to five with a parent. The workshops are meant as a great way for children and their parents to get creative and celebrate the seasons. All supplies are included for these make-and-take activities.

The final workshop in the series is called Holiday Decoration Workshop. Craft stations filled with snowflakes, ornaments, and garlands will keep little hands busy. Participants will take home festive decorations to brighten their holiday home. To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under preschool and then under fine and performing arts. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword "art.”

Holiday Decoration Workshop take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Prairie Village Community Center, 7720 Mission Road, Prairie Village. The cost for one 60-minute session for each parent and child is $11 for Johnson County residents or $12 per parent and child for nonresidents.

The JCPRD's Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, see the District's website at
