Higher M-Pact, Creative Planning partner on Thanksgiving dinner

HIGHER M-PACT, Inc. partner with CREATIVE PLANNING, Inc. for a Day of THANKS

What: As part of the 6th Annual Day of Thanks, Higher M-Pact and Creative Planning are making an impact this Holiday season by distributing turkeys and groceries for a Thanksgiving dinner for 500 families in low-income housing projects in the Kansas City, MO urban core areas. To date this event has provided over 2,100 families with a Thanksgiving dinner for families selected by Higher M-Pact.

The event is a way for youth involved in Higher M-Pact and the employees of Creative Planning to experience the joys of giving back to the community. The youth and volunteers will assemble and distribute Thanksgiving meals for families mainly in Riverview Gardens, Guinotte Manor, West Bluff and Wayne Minor housing project.

When/Where: Tuesday, November 20, 2012 Grocery Pick up: 10am to 12:30pm, 5pm to 7pm Location: Riverview Gardens, 299 Paseo, Kansas City, MO 6410

Grocery Delivery: 1pm to 3pm Location: Guinotte Manor - 1100 East 4th Street, Kansas City, MO 64106

Grocery Delivery: 4pm to 6pm Location: West Bluff - 1210 West Bluff Drive, Kansas City, MO 64108

Why:
This is Higher M-Pact’s chance to give back to the community and inspire others to do the same. HM-P is dedicated to transforming the lives of high-risk urban youth. Through the organization, founder Tyrone Flowers provides services, programs and support to over 2,500 high-risk and at-risk urban youth in the community and across the country, giving them hope, preparing them for their future and helping them develop skills needed to succeed in today’s society.

Background:
Higher M-Pact was founded in 1993 and launched full time in 2003 by Kansas City native Tyrone Flowers. HM-P is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. The organization addresses the developmental needs of urban adolescents through intervention and intensive mentoring and conducts community outreach to share the message of hope and keys for personal development.
