KC's Matheney named to all-conference soccer team
Illinois College men's soccer players Trevor Donahue (St. Louis, Mo./Bishop DuBourg) and Andrew Matheney (Kansas City, Mo./North) have been named to the Midwest Conference all-conference team. Both were Second Team selections.
Donahue, a senior goalkeeper, tallied 109 saves in 17 matches, posting a record of 6-8-3. Donahue allowed just 22 goals in over 1,542 minutes in goal, allowing an average of 1.28 goals per 90 minutes. Donahue tallied a season-high 16 saves in a loss to Lake Forest College on October 21.
Matheney, a sophomore defender, spearheaded a defense that allowed an average of 1.22 goals per match, ranking fifth in the conference. Matheney appeared in 16 matches and scored a goal in a 2-1 win over Anderson University on September 12.
The Illinois College men finished the season with an overall record of 7-8-3 and a Midwest Conference record of 2-6-2.
