70 Small Businesses in 1 to Celebrate Small Business Saturday

CONTACT: Amy Herman, Owner (913)400-2034, amy@mommyshopkc.com

Mommyshop, located at 149th and Metcalf, in Overland Park, Kansas, will celebrate their third Small Business Saturday, next Saturday, November 24th.

For the third year in a row, American Express is offering Cardmembers the opportunity to get a $25 statement credit when they enroll their eligible American Express® card at www.shopsmall.com and then use it to spend $25 or more in a single in-store transaction at a qualifying small business location on Small Business Saturday. The number of enrollments is limited. Enrollment opens at 12:00AM MST on November 18th and continues until 11:59PM MST on November 24th unless the enrollment limit is reached sooner.

Mommyshop is a unique small business that features 70 individually owned small businesses under one roof. Each business owner rents space within the store. This is an economical way to have a store without shouldering the burden of all the overhead. The store opened in August of 2010, and has flourished catering to mom, baby, kids and women. " It is like a holiday boutique that exists all year long and the perfect place to get that one-of-a-kind gift", said Amy Herman, co-owner of the mommyshop. Several business owners will be on hand to answer any questions shoppers may have about their merchandise.

Small Business Saturday was largely created to remind people that amid all the hype and hoopla of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, they should also remember - and frequent - the great local businesses that do so much to support the communities they live in.
