Royals trainer featured at Park University admissions event
Nick Kenney, head athletic trainer for the Kansas City Royals, will be a guest speaker at Park University’s upcoming Major Day highlighting Park’s athletic training program. The event is set for Friday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the University’s Parkville Campus.
Major Days showcase specific majors, giving students and their families a sneak peak at what it looks like to participate in that program. Guests are able to sit in on a class in that major, meet with faculty and/or program chairs, go on a tour of the campus and meet with an admissions counselor.
Kenney represented the American League on July 10 in this year’s All-Star Game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. He is the fourth Royals athletic trainer to be named an All-Star. Kenney also was voted Major League Baseball’s Top Athletic Trainer in 2011.
A Major Day, highlighting social work and fine arts, is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 7. In addition, other upcoming admissions events include: •Saturday Campus Tours — Nov. 17, Dec. 8 Students are invited to spend an hour on a campus tour led by a student tour guide.
