PFLAG-KC president, Randy Fowler, was presented with a generous donation from Dr. George Turner and Lisa Meyers. “We had an open house celebration and wanted to highlight the festivities by donating to PFLAG. We respect their work and the invaluable service they provide to the LGBTQ community and their families”, stated Dr. George Turner.

Turner Professional Group provides support to those during the coming process out as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. It is also a journey that families and straight allies travel. For them, coming out and defending LGBT persons can be just as difficult. George and Lisa often help clients navigate safer sex, build confidence and self-esteem, and create strong romantic relationships. Lisa shared, “Straight spouses often need support too when their partners come out as gay or lesbian or transgender. It can be a lonely and frightening time for spouses and we’re here to lend them guidance, resources, and a place to heal as well.” Dr. Turner added, “Helping our clients illuminate their journey and shed the cloak of shame to find an authentic voice is a powerful result of the therapeutic process; one that we are honored to share!”

PFLAG-KC (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) is a national support, education and advocacy organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, their families, friends and allies.
