KC Company Announces New Product That Improves Food Safety by Reducing Restroom Bacterial Cross Contamination

(Kansas City, MO) July, 2009 - Restroom Guardian recently developed a new revolutionary environmental infection control product to greatly improve food safety by reducing restroom bacterial cross contamination and proactively disinfecting restrooms. It is no surprise; restrooms are a haven for many potentially dangerous bacterial microorganisms. Many types and classes of bacteria, including E. coli, C. difficile, enterococci and staphylococci can be found in any restroom and can cause a serious potentially life-threatening infection. These last two classes of bacteria account for the great majority of infections contacted by consumers and patients, which, even when treatable with antibiotics, can carry high mortality rates.

Questions and answers from Social Security

June 12, 2009

Question:

My neighbor said my kids, ages 8 and 11, might be eligible for survivors’ benefits since their father died. Are they?

Answer:

Maybe. For your family to be eligible for survivors benefits, their father must have earned the required number of Social Security credits. If he did, you and your children may be eligible for benefits. You’ll want to apply for survivors benefits promptly because benefits are generally retroactive only up to six months. You can apply by calling Social Security's toll-free number, 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Social Security Board of Trustees: Economic Downturn Leads to Worsening of Long-Range Financing Outlook

The Social Security Board of Trustees today released its annual report on the financial health of the Social Security Trust Funds. The Trustees project that program costs will exceed tax revenues in 2016, one year sooner than projected in last year’s report. The combined assets of the Old-Age and Survivors, and Disability Insurance (OASDI) Trust Funds will be exhausted in 2037, four years sooner than projected last year. The worsening of the long-range outlook for the Social Security program is due primarily to the recent economic downturn and faster reductions in mortality than previously assumed.
