Diabetes and Obesity are Reversible.
There will be a discussion 3 PM Saturday, Nov. 7 at Borders, 9108 Metcalf, Overland Park. Dr. Irving Cohen, a Topeka physician, will discuss the underlying causes of the current epidemic of overweight and diabetes. Most people who are overweight have followed “standard advice” and been frustrated by becoming worse. Yet, research has proven that the “standard advice”, as created by the government and found everywhere, is completely wrong. Three decades ago, it became US government policy to try to re-educate the American public, because 1 of 7 adults were overweight. Today, as a direct result of this government mistake, 2 of 3 adults are overweight. The number of diabetics has more than doubled.

Half Price Books Tackles Illiteracy Problem with A,E,I,O & You Volunteer Recruitment Program
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (September, 2009) —While the declining economy has forced many people from their jobs, it has pushed them into the door of literacy organizations nationwide looking for help to boost literacy and job skills. While the call for help is a good thing, it has left many literacy groups in need of additional volunteers to make sure students get the help they need. Half Price Books, a longtime supporter of literacy causes, is hoping to solve this problem with “A,E,I,O & You,” an effort to help local literacy groups recruit volunteers.
