Local Greenwood soccer team finishes second at the Missouri Show-Me-State Games
Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18, the Spirit America Futball Club (SAFC) traveled to Columbia, MO to participate in the Show Me State Games (an Olympic-style sports festival held each summer.) This was SAFC’s first time to play in an out-of-town tournament and temperatures were excruciating. The girls quelled any anxiousness they may have felt and, after playing 4 games over 2 days in dreadful heat, SAFC earned a second place medal!
Spirit America FC is coached by Bryan Davenport and Chris Cook and managed by Kelly Lumbard – all three Greenwood residents. Local Greenwood players are Madison Cook, Trinity Ray and Samantha Lumbard. Congrats to the whole team, coaches, management and parents for a great weekend!
