Platte City, Missouri November 23, 2009—
Platte City resident Sherri Plunkett has announced her candidacy for Missouri’s 30th District State Representative. Plunkett has lived in Platte County for 19 years with her husband, Jim Plunkett, and three children Andrea, Alexandra and Adam.

Plunkett said, “I’m running for State Representative because Platte County is my home. I feel that government spending is out of control. As a successful small business owner, I have the skills and experience needed to bring fiscal responsibility to Jefferson City. I will be a voice for the people of my district, and not special interests”.

Plunkett is active in the community, and attends Restore Community Church on Barry Road. She is a member of the NRA, Associated Builders and Contractors and the Platte County Pachyderms.

"During this economic downturn, it is important that we send someone to the state legislature who understands business and what it takes to meet a payroll. Jobs are number one on everyone's mind right now and Sherri is the best person to represent our needs to Jefferson City." Former State Representative Susan Phillips said.

Plunkett graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from William Jewell College and received her MBA from Rockhurst University.
