Fitness study results in healthier neighbors

Snap Fitness Program Burns Fat, Drops Pounds

OLATHE, KS, November 2009 – Ever wonder how a regular exercise program might help you? Then look to your neighbors! Some 53 of them took part in a three-week Fitness Study conducted by the Northwest Olathe Snap Fitness and, not surprisingly, they’re feeling a whole better about themselves right about now.

After 21 days of huffing and puffing, the Study’s volunteers collectively, on average lost 3 pounds and 2 ½ percent body fat.

“Our volunteers proved that even in a short time, you can create healthy habits, improve your health and lay the foundation for a more fulfilling life,” said Ky, the club's manager. “They’ve demonstrated that moderate physical activity just three times a week can make a big difference in how we look and feel about ourselves.”

The volunteers attended supervised exercise sessions at Snap Fitness three times a week for three weeks, incorporating cardio and strength-training workouts into their routines.

Though the Study won’t be repeated for a while, neighbors are encouraged participate in “The 12 Days of Fitness” by purchasing a 12-day pass for $20 in which all funds go ALS research through Augie's Quest. The “12 Days of Fitness” runs now through December 19.

Located at College Blvd & Lone Elm Road, Snap Fitness is open 24/7. The gym features state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment. Personal training is available on an optional basis. And every member is given access to a free Personal Web Page to create and track workouts, create meal plans to achieve weight goals and take a confidential health risk assessment that results in a Personal Wellness Plan.
