Villa Ventura Hosts Veteran Benefits Seminar

Kansas City, MO – November 9, 2009 – Senior Star at Villa Ventura Retirement Community announced they will hold a seminar to educate area residents about an annual VA benefit of up to $23,000 available to qualified veterans and surviving spouses of veterans. The goal of the seminar is to inform local residents of the Aid and Attendance Benefit program which has been widely underutilized by veterans across the country.

According to an article in the Kansas City Star many veterans “are completely unaware that the program exits.” It is estimated that only 27% of veterans and 14% of veterans’ widows receive the monthly benefit which means that only 1 of 4 veterans who qualify and 1 of 7 widows of veterans who qualify are receiving monthly checks.

Area veterans and surviving spouses of veterans are invited to learn more about the Aid and Attendance Benefit during the seminar to be held at 2:00 p.m., Wed., Nov. 18, at Villa Ventura, 12100 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO.
