Products donated for local outreach program serving homeless youth

Kansas City, Missouri. November 2, 2009-StandUp for Kids-Kansas City announced they are donating 90 backpacks containing food and personal care products to the ReStart Youth Network. Girl Scout Troop #110 from Olathe collected the backpacks and items to donate. The local chapter of Stand Up For Kids is a relatively new organization and one of the few programs offering assistance to homeless youth.

ReStart is a two-part outreach program for runaway and homeless kids, and operates the only youth emergency shelter in the urban core of Kansas City. Andrea Cowsar, Co-Executive Director of StandUp, talks about this strategic collaboration. “We found that partnering with Re-Start would help us make better headway in the community and create other avenues for us to assist homeless kids.” A partner program which began in 2001, Arts for Children and Youth, exposes youth to arts and culture so they have the opportunity to express themselves positively, leading to career interest and exploration as a result.

StandUp For Kids is a 501 © 3 charitable organization and donations are tax deductible.
