Perfect Output of Kansas City, LLC, Earth Class Mail Team Up to Provide Leading-Edge Enterprise Digital Mailroom Services
The two companies will leverage experience gained at Sprint Nextel to pursue outsourcing contracts with other major companies.
Earth Class Mail™, the world’s leading provider of Internet-powered postal-mail delivery technology, and enterprise document-management provider Perfect Output announce their partnership to bring an unprecedented combination of document-processing and mail-management services to enterprise customers.
Going forward, Earth Class Mail’s licensed online postal-mail technology will be a key component of the enterprise document-management outsourcing package that Perfect Output will take into the U.S. corporate marketplace.
For the past 18 months, the companies have been working alongside each other at Sprint Nextel’s corporate campus in Overland Park, Kansas. In late March, Perfect Output, which has provided document services at Sprint Nextel for the past 11 years, was awarded a five-year contract to manage all document-related services for its corporate locations and retail stores nationwide.
For enterprises, Earth Class Mail’s system digitizes paper mail at its entry point into the mail center, injecting it directly into a company’s electronic workflow and saving 75% of typical document lifecycle costs. Employees view images of their mail envelopes and packages online and then, for each item, direct the mail center whether to have the item opened and the contents scanned to a PDF file, or to have it delivered to the employee’s desk, transferred to another employee, recycled, shredded, returned to the mail center for recipient resolution, or stored electronically and/or in paper form.
“The term ‘Digital Mailroom’ has historically referred only to the opening and scanning of a company’s pre-permissioned, uniform mail streams, such as claim forms and accounts payable documents,” says Sarah Carr, CEO of Earth Class Mail. “All the rest of the company’s mail, including items addressed to individual employees or to no department or employee at all, had to be hand-sorted, delivered and processed the old-fashioned way. At this corporate site we’ve demonstrated the appreciable cost savings and productivity improvements resulting from our unique, patent-pending ‘Recipient Choice’ technology, which finally allows enterprise customers to process 100% of their incoming postal mail in a true Digital Mailroom environment.”
John Walker, CEO of Perfect Output, states: “Sprint Nextel’s implementation of Earth Class Mail’s online postal-mail delivery platform is the largest of its kind in the world, serving over 13,000 employees at both the Overland Park, Kansas and Reston, Virginia campuses. We believe many more corporate and government customers will want to obtain the same types of efficiency improvements and ecological benefits that Sprint has enjoyed from the Earth Class Mail platform, and we are excited to be the first national channel partner to incorporate it within our other advanced document-management platforms.”
About Earth Class Mail
Earth Class Mail offers and licenses a service that lets customers access and manage their postal mail online, 24x7, with benefits ranging from mobility and convenience or a business presence at a fraction of the cost of an executive suite to cost-savings and productivity. Earth Class Mail's system digitizes envelopes at midstream of the delivery process, presenting two-sided color images of incoming envelopes to customers via email and in customers' secure online accounts. Then, for each new mail item, customers can use Earth Class Mail's patent-pending Recipient Choice™ technology to have the item opened and the contents confidentially scanned for secure online viewing, or to have it shredded, archived, delivered to the right desk, transferred to another person without need of interoffice mail systems, or forward-shipped to another location without delay. The company is headquartered in Seattle.
About Perfect Output of Kansas City, LLC
Established in 1997, in Overland Park, KS, Perfect Output has a driving philosophy based on the understanding that organizations desire to utilize the most cost effective document output devices, while reducing additional costs, and without limiting production.
Theirs is a strategic and analytic approach to assisting companies in their efforts to provide enhanced technology at a lower overall cost. This strategic concept is based on the premise that most organizations do not manage all document-related activities under a common umbrella, thus missing opportunities to achieve cost synergies and operating strategies that build upon one another.
Partnering with major companies such as Xerox, Canon, HP, and others to be an organization’s single source provider for document output management, Perfect Output has the ability to provide state of the art equipment and service, but also the customized, personalized service of a smaller business enterprise possessing greater flexibility and fewer operating constraints. Due to its size and structure, Perfect Output has excelled at providing exactly this type of individualized and agile service response, even to our largest customers.
Perfect Output has a solid customer base of primarily large local, regional, and national business enterprises – including Sprint, Cerner Corporation, Hallmark, Kansas City Power & Light, Saint Luke’s Health System, and Johnson & Johnson.
